Scheduling is a very important aspect of making a project. Too many things can go wrong without a set schedule. Imagine failing your whole project because you haven't planned when or what you are going to film. In this blog I will go in depth in my scheduling process and how I will manage my time throughout the duration of this project.
Week 2/6 - 2/12
This was my first week of the project and posted my first blog related to this project on Sunday, February 12th, 2023. On this day, my blog was just a simple introduction explaining my thought and feelings during the very beginning of this project. Although it was a very simple blog, I think it showed my excitement and eagerness to start this long-lasting project.
Week 2/13 - 2/19
This week was my first full week of my project. I researched A LOT. And though I was so tired of typing on google and scrolling through websites, I think this research really paid off. I now have a solid base and structure of my video that I will keep building upon.
I started with researching the basics like genre and what opening titles are and how to make a good one. After that, I made more specific postings relating to my project more such as my location scouting blog post and my font post. These posts are still vague and that is what this next week is for; being more in depth and relating my content more to my opening scene.
Week 2/20-2/26
This week I will be posting 4 blogs on more specific research and planning. This scheduling post will be my first to organize my ideas and make sure I time myself correctly to have enough time for the rest of the project. Today, February 22nd, I also decided my 3 other blog ideas so I don't stress to much about that later on in the week.
-I thought making a posting about my actual story, maybe doing a vlog and posting the link in my blog. This is because, as of now, whoever's reading this doesn't really have any idea of what my story is about or what my plot will be. In this post I will probably also do a mood board and just overall explain what and who my main character is.
-I also decided to dedicate one post to my storyboard. Storyboards are incredibly important to make before starting to film as it can give me a feel of the project and how it will turn out. Storyboards can also make me want to include a greater variety of shots and angles so everything does not look the same in the end. In this post I will also include a script if necessary. I said "if necessary" because I have not fully decided yet whether I want to add words to this piece.
-Lastly, my final idea for another posting is a sound and music post. Since I will be doing a horror film opening, using sound and stings will be incredibly important to feed in to the eerie vibe. In this post I could include some specific copyright free sounds that I will use. I could also use this blog to talk about what sounds I want to be heard in my opening, such as heavy breathing, screaming, etc.
Week 2/27-3/5
During this week, I plan on beginning my filming process. I have not decided exactly what days I will be filming yet, however, I will most likely want to finish filming within 3 days maximum. This gives me plenty of time incase I have to go back and refilm certain scenes if they didn't come out as well as I expected.
I will likely film on Tuesday, February 28th, Saturday, March 4th, and Sunday, March 5th. But then again, I haven't fully set my filming days yet since my friend will be helping me film certain parts and we have to make sure we both have time to film during those days.
While I am filming, I will probably take a small vlog. Whether I post it as a blog or not, I'm still deciding, however, this vlog can help me fully remember the experience and problems I encountered during filming so I can document it when I start my 3 blogs for that week.
Week 3/6-3/12
This week I am reserving for one of the most important aspects of any project: revision. I wont start to edit yet, however, if I can't finish filming before this week, I will finish throughout the week. This week I am planning to save it for any mistakes I had made the week before. Like I said earlier, I like to save time for any scenes that I want to go back and film.
